1935 B Reverse

When I am in high range and I shift to reverse the hi/lo shifter stays in high range and I have a much faster reverse. My other 2 cylinders default to lo range when shifted into reverse. Is something not assembled correctly in the ?35 or is this normal? Thanks

There is a rod attached to the shifter that shifts the hi/zoo lever. Your rod may be bent or gone

Thanks Mark. The parts manual calls it a lockout pin. I just finished installing a behlen overdrive in the tractor last week. I took lots of photos during the process and looking back I was able to see the hi/lo pawl and when I zoom in it looks like the lockout pin was broken off. I know it wasn?t there when I took the pawls out so it must have been missing when I bought the tractor.

We had a 35 that also did that. Did not seem to hurt or sound bad in the high reverse but I think it was faster that way then 4 gear lol. Even in low reverse it was fast an a guy had to be careful.

A I had a 48 model I that I removed the pin inside on the shift forks so I could have a super fast reverse, because I plowed snow & needed to back up sometimes a long way. I did the same thing to the 44 A I resurrected because I plan to plow snow with it too. It is handy for this operation only. Really the slow reverse is way too fast to back most things up.
