3020 Gas Gauge

Ordered new gauge and sender. Installed both, gauge has 3 studs for connections vs old one with two.

Have validated wire to sender, sender works, but gauge constantly wants to go to full when key turned on.

Not wiring something right, just can t figure it out. I ordered a positive ground gauge. It s a 24v system, 1964 model.

Markings on the back of the 3 post aren t aligned real well, positive ground, ground and supply voltage.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your 1st problem is attempting to utilize a "gas" gauge on a "diesel" powered tractor

Does rear of your fuel gauge resemble one in photo. If so which post do you have sender wire attached?

The after market garbage gauge has to be grounded to frame on the third ground terminal of gauge
that is marked ground. The original equipment gauge grounded through mounting / body of gauge
different than aftermarket junk gauge. The 12 volt positive ground gauge is correct for the original
24 volt tractor / system. DW

Thanks, will see if it works. Wired the way i think it should be wired, and hooked to sender, the gauge just pegs when key turned on. I will run a wire to ground and see if that fixes it.
