JD 5101EN low on power

I have a JD 5101EN. It acts like it's running out of fuel. Replace the fuel transfer pump. No change. Throttle it up and the RPMs start to drop. The primer pump on top of the fuel filter housing in the RPMs pick back up to normal. Good flow from fuel tank to transfer pump. New fuel filter. What am I missing? Thank you. Lance

is your fuel turning into black smoke instead of power, indicating it's not getting enuf air? if so, checked the air filter?

Due to the fact you state "good fuel flow from tank to transfer pump" that filter(item 33) isn't clogged & that tank is venting.

Thanks Jim. I took the fuel cap off. Same
thing. If I pump the primer pump on top
of the fuel filter it picks up RPMs and
seems to run fine. Air filter is new.

It seems like lack of fuel. It will run fine under 1500 RPMs. I throttle it up it'll reach 2500 RPMs for 10 seconds and then start cutting out.

Don't remember, is there an electric fuel pump on those little buggers that supplies the mechanical pump that's at the injection pump?

One parts schematic shows an electric fuel pump on a 5101EN fuel system. I'll suggest to check to determine if pump is operating when ign switch is in on position.

Usually, if working, those electric transfer pumps can be heard when the key is turned on.
