Last single location dealer

Are there any left in the country now? I didn't know Godfrey Brothers in Jonesville Michigan had been taken over until I saw an ad in the Farm Trader that said they own the Chevy dealership in Albion now. I did a search and found out that they were taken over on September 1 apparently. I knew they must have had a huge bullseye on their backs for a lot of years now. My sympathy goes out to everybody they served.

Gladhill Tractor in Jefferson, MD near Frederick is a very large family owned dealership with a smaller location in Damascus, MD. Been that way for many years.

There is a single dealer about 45 minutes from me. My local dealer was bought out by AgPro, what a disaster. I'll bet since the start of the buy until now that 10 new Fendts are sold to each Deere sold in my area. The Fendt dealer is growing larger to keep up with demand and still a single outlet. Seems Deere has learned to shoot themselves in the foot. The farm neighborhood here used to be largely Deere, now we see many colors in their place.

Godfrey's was indeed a great dealer, had been for many years. Deere told them they were out some time ago. Only BTO's are buying new equipment, other farmers are buying used. Sad, but just the way it is.

There not any Agco dealer John Deere dealer or cnh fiat dealer that is a single store in Idaho or UTAH that I know of. The last John Deere sold out about five years ago and the Agco was before that and cnh the next year . Just the way it is I guess

Hamrick Oshields in Shelby NC. Deere made them move from Boiling Springs to there several years ago. One of the oldest in the country. Three generations of Hamricks have ran it.

I believe so. Up to a month or so ago there was one in the St Lawrence River area. Closer to home there was Charles Oliver and Son in Canaseraga, NY near Hornell, NY. My 6 row 1750 planter started out there before being traded to the dealer in Hall, NY. Oliver went out around a dozen years ago already.

Same here. An AGCO dealership sprang up out of a former Home Depot building selling Fendt,Challenger,Massey,Terra Gator and Row Gator. It's owned by a family that used to sell Deere. They poached the best parts and service guys from wherever they could get them. They host a lot of ag meetings in their facility fostering good will. They're gaining momentum all the time.

Sad part about them is the owner. One day he will talk to you and the next he will act like he doesn't even know you.He had a brother Sam that died of a brain tumor about 1980 maybe. Everyone liked Sam and his dad even said the wrong boy died. Tom

One of the area IH dealerships was a 2 man partnership. The one partner was considered quite impersonal although I never had a problem with him. One of the NH dealers was a family business and one of the sons was quite difficult to get along with. Other than that the area dealers from years ago had pretty personable ownership.

We still have a single store JD dealer here in Mishicot, WI., about 30 miles SE of Green Bay. It is a family owned dealership that started in 1945. It might be the only one left in Wisconsin. About 3 years ago they told me they were one of 3 single store JD dealerships in WI. Al

I?m sorry rrlund. No the pot was never mentioned but I sold my soul that I?d stay out of the politics! Honestly I have a great independent guy I get my parts from ant he?s awesome I don?t really have much good to say about the big 3 and their dealers

I went to college with Tim Godfrey, at the time his Dad and Uncle ran the business, Tim was planning to farm. Really nice guy, but I haven't seen him since late 80's.

Greenmark owns our local dealership, they were forced to move and build new about a decade ago, but that was two or three conglomerates ago, as well. I really only buy parts/supplies from them, and like being able to draw from the chain inventory with no shipping charges. For a MicroTO like me, it hasn't been a big deal, for the BTOs, I'm sure they have complaints (as with almost everything)
