I've got a later QT1 cab mounted on '68 JD 4020 and when the PTO lever is engaged it cannot fully engage as it hits the cab tool tray under front window, so what's everyone done to avoid slipping the PTO clutch in this situation mine was bought with burnt PTO clutch

It's been over 35 yrs since I mounted Year-A-Round cabs on JD tractors but I don't remember the pto lever with cab interference you mentioned.

Can you post a photo showing this problem?

Have you considered removing the tool tray?

I'm thinking it's part of the cab frame and I know we sold many of these cabs in that time but I don't remember PTO lever issues

I have put several of these cabs on 4020's back in the day,,i don't remember having that problem,,can you readjust the lever linkage under the dash and change the stop screw ?? Im sure all that is rusted tight...

With a cab you more than likely do not use the right side door so just heat and bend the lever. I have seen levers that were shortened even cut and welded at different angles. If you ever remove the cab there are no shortage of replacement levers. I have an early 4020 that had a tall gearshift off a 72 model installed and the pto lever was heated and bent some for clearance. Tom
