I have a 430 tricycle wide front and need a real good hood. I looked on the internet and came across a dave geyer [319 628 4257] but my call will never seem to go thru,is he still making hoods? Also on the nose cone[grill assembly] the parts book list the tricycle as at11508t and most of the others as at11507t. What is the differance in the two? Is the part number stamped on it somewhere? How can i tell which one i have? Is there a way to get a serial number tag for this tractor? I looked on the internet and got some yes some no so thought i would ask yall. I know this 430 is not the most ideal tractor to restore but how many of you have went and looked at one and your first thought is i need to walk away from this one and then you start looking at it and for some reason you just really, really like it,then the owner say's "make me a offer" and you shoot him a low ball offer and he say's OK.

430's are good useful tractors. As far as SN, you'll need to find the engine serial number on the RH lower front corner of the engine block. Take that to Deere dealer and have them contact their ASM. He'll have to go to Deere to get a new tag (which will NOT look like the original). Do not expect this to be a next day sort a thing. I've never done it, but this is how it's usually explained.

The T nose piece is different from the others because of the bottom piece of tin that fits around the cast iron post behind the nose. You can remove or alter that metal piece and any 430 nose will work. The tractors with power steering had a different grill screen on the right side ( facing the tractor). It had two humps to clear the PS unit. I?ve got some used hoods, have to check on a nose piece.
