New to me JD 4020 diesel with the powershift. Besides a couple of coolant leaks the tractor runs perfect. However, shifting isn t what it could be. I m only able to shift between gears by using the inching/clutch pedal. I have yet to change the filters but I did change the oil and transmission fluid. Any suggestions? Hoping it s a linkage issue but I am not sure what to look for on the shift linkage to check it out.

All inching pedal does is open/allow to close a hyd valve. My guess is trans not shifting correctly is a faulty shift linkage/valve or incorrect trans pressure which should be around 150 psi.
