Not quite the regular question, I was wondering something about regulators that came up during some rewiring of my 60. Found the light switch was powered by a wire through the L Terminal on the regulator....and it's factory that way, my original wires show it as well as the 60 service manual.
60 Wiring diagram from service manual
The later generic wiring diagram from Deere shows it getting power from the ammeter, which is indeed a simpler solution.
Generic wiring diagram for 50, 60, 70, 520, 620, etc
Any guesses why they'd go from the L terminal? That's a lot of extra wire.
I seem to remember that the L terminal isn't as regulated. Is it voltage regulated but not amp, so it puts out more power? One guy thinks it avoids point wear on the regulator? Dunno, thought you or others might know
Thanks!
Brandon
