whats the difference between the pink service shop copy and the normal yellow & green customer copies when it comes to operators manuals?

AFAIK, mostly the pink cover!

I'm not sure, it may vary with the publication number/date of publication. I happen to have an owner's Operator's manual and a Dealer Service Shop copy of the Operator's manual for a 145 loader. The owners manual has 24 pages and the Dealer copy has 74 pages. In this case it appears the dealer copy has more detailed info. Again it would be interesting to see a copy of both that one knew were released at the same time, I expect most would have little if any difference. The pink/red cover may be a visual identification aid so it doesn't get mixed up with the Owner's copy and leave the dealer's library.
