4020 PTO 540 to 1000

Can a 4020 PTO from 540 to 1000?

IIRC, some 4020's were made with 1000 RPM-only PTO's.

But you are asking the opposite question, AFAIK, you should be able to change your 540 PTO to 1000 RPM PTO by swapping stub shafts, the shaft not being used should be stored perpendicular to the PTO shaft, in a "pocket" above and to the right of the PTO shaft.

What serial number range, early or late, and powershift or synchro transmission, in case this info will help someone more knowledgeable on this question?

Most have both shafts I have never seen a 1,000 only..but they were offered.I'm sure the numbers would be low on 1,000 only ones.
