Engine oil for a 830 two cylinder

Hi all I?m new here.we have a 830 two cylinder which we intend to do some farming with and was wondering if 30 wt rotella was good to use or should we use John Deere or shaeffers any help would be appreciated thanks.

Using 15W40 (T4) rotella in every thing I can, some special manufacturer recommended oils in my Gator and Toro zero turn mower.

15-40 engine oil is the going thing for pretty much any diesel out there. you wont get any better than that. the jimmy's should have a straight grade oil. dont even know if that rotella 30 is a diesel rated oil? not common to put 30 in diesels. not good for the brg's.. too thin.

not really, been using castrol 20-50 for years , since the 1970's in vehicles. but now new gas engines want the thin oil like 5-20, 5-30.

Each to their own...but with oil being at a reasonable price (one of the few things that IS) I just use oil at the Harley dealerships for my 60. I figure if they're selling it for their tractors it's GOT to be safe and probably one of the best to use. Sometimes trying to save a few just isn't worth it in the longrun. I consider oil to be one of those.

A low ash oil leaves fewer deposits in an engine that burns oil. Also why two stroke detroit diesels must use a low ash oil or suffer failure(s).
Sae 40wt SF-2 or SF-II oil is low ash .

(quoted from post at 21:44:36 12/15/19) I think the j d oil is low ash don?t know about the rotella what brand of
oil do you use

Rotella T1 straight weight is the oil market s premier SF-2 low ash diesel oil .

I,ve had my 830 for over 30 years and always used the John Deere 15/40 and has been fine. When I bought it the rear end oil level was overfull. I changed the oil seals behind the clutch on the crank and that solved the problem. I may need to do that again if I was too put a bunch of hours on it but now I just tractor pull with it so it don,t get many hours anymore. It does give me a fair amount of first places though. A great tractor and mine deserves the best oil. 15/40 Plus 50 in it now I believe.

Thank you for your advice Dad has wanted a 830 for as long as I can
remember.we have bigger and newer tractors but there?s just
something about that 830 it?s are favorite tractor and we run it quite a
bit so we want to protect it the best we can thanks again
