Brake Pedal Shaft Part B226R

I broke the brake pedal shaft on a 1950 JD B. Part number, from what I found online, is B226R. Anyone got one that can help me out?

Tell me if you think this will hold. I ground down the broken end where threads are. I then tapped it out to 5/16, I believe, but not sure on size. I then put a bolt and washer on it to tighten it down so there is no play. Do you think this will hold?

Found a tractor junkyard about 45 minutes away that I didn't know existed. Got a shaft this morning.
