Power Block's of the 50's

Talking to a friend about Power Block's for the two cylinder's. He said that a block could be bored out just as big as the power block. I disagreed, and I had a magazine article about the power block's but I can't find it. Dad had one put in his '51 A, and as a kid it bothered me that the mechanic did not paint it green (they were yellow).

Does anyone know how much bigger the bore was on a Power Block?
 
The power block 7-1 for a G and the 7-2 for the 70 were both factory 6.5" bore. All three A power blocks 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3 were all
6" bore. The two B blocks 5-1, 5-2 and model 50 block 5-3 were all 5" factory bore. DW
 
Power blocks were sleeved and the piston had to go in from the backside and would not fit from the head gasket side. At least that is what I remember from a 70 with one.
