Draining hydraulic oil John Deere 3010 Diesel

Friends, I want to drain the hydraulic oil on my John Deere 3010 diesel. I know I need to remove that larger looking cap under left foot battery box. Is there anything else I need to drain? The filter in there, can I just clean it and put it back in? Anything else I need to know / do? My e-mail is down and not working so it's best to answer here.
Thanks for any and all help.

There is one large plug on the under side of the transmission,,takes an 1 1/4" wrench...that's it...sounds like you pulled the sump screen plug,, which will drain most of it,, pull the sump screen while the oil is out and take a look at it..

...and a tip I have seen from contributor Tomstractorsandtoys I believe.... while you have everything apart (oil drained, hyd filter off, and sump screen out), place a magnet inside the sump screen to pick up any metal filings/shavings that may be circulating in your 3010's system especially if you dont know the tractors history, which is probably the case.

Hyd filter is too cheap when purchased new not to change it. The hyd filter for 3010 is one of the cheaper parts JD dealers sell. Filter is $8.03 on YT parts list at the top of this page & it comes with sealing ring

Have two buckets as they have about 8 gallons in them. I like to put a cow magnet inside the screen to catch any metal filings. There is a nice aftermarket magnet and holder but it sells for around $50 and a cow magnet cost about $5. Tom
