3020 inj pump standyn and timing

Replaced the Roassi pump with a standyn And
Been down hill ever since . Replaced pump because it wouldnt
control the speed or idle anymore. Put it at TDC and pump was lined
up before i pulled it . I saw the mark on oil pump gear at 11:00
The new rebuild throttle wired to wide open but i cut right of the box
Deere says i should of cut it after i dropped it in .
The tractor will start and idle fine but has no power .
As you throttle up sounds like something is holding it back.
Is standyn a direct replacement for the Roassi ?
When the V on oil pump gear is at 11:00 :, cyl should be at TDC right
? Timing problem ? The advance got screwed up when i cut the wire
too soon ? Puzzled

Check the fuel return line. There are most likely pieces of the old governor ring pluging it.

Yes,, the return line has an elbow behind the generator, and this is a likely place for it to plug,,you can prove all this by loosening the timing window cover while its running and see if it runs better,,yes it will leak a bit so have a pan ready..

Times two what ET said, remove and clean the return line back to tank. Confirm by loosening the two screw timing cover on the side, if engine runs fine WITH the fuel leak, but acts up again with the cover tight the return is blocked/restricted which will shut the pump down. Since that pump come with a drive shaft, the throttle lever DOES NOT need tied back for shipping. Pumps WITHOUT a shaft in place during shipping SHOULD have the throttle lever tied toward high speed stop to keep the governor sleeve/washer tension so weight won't fall out of place.

Thanks for all of your help with my fuel problem .
Took pump into shop and they the governor was set too tight
Had problems . But the return was plugged also . Just like
Was stated open the window and tractor was fine, close it and would almost die . Blew out the return and everything was fine
Tractor is running strong again !!

Thanks for the help everyone !
