2510 wiring questions

I have found a new harness behind the key and light switch panel. It was unpluged of course because the two wire junctions don't match with the two plugs going to the tractor. I have a JD part number that I will try to post a picture of it. If the computer whips me, here is the JD part from the tag-AR47685_REV. The top of the tag has ALPHABET , PORTLAND. The middle is a bar code and why I think it was recently added.

What is it, exactly, that you are asking?

A photo of the connectors on the short harness and the tractor harness(es) would be interesting.

The original connectors in that area were not a good design, parts catalog shows the need to order the engine harness at the same time, I'm GUESSING they updated the connectors and the old and new style don't plug and play together.

I don't remember if it was on the 4020, or 2510 I rewired- but I bought all JD parts, and was disgusted to find they sent me bags of wire ends. I had to change all wire ends on one harness plug there behind the kick panel. If I was to do it again I would get the parts from wiringharnesses.com.

I hope these pics come through. I am trying to figure out if the wiring has been changed to the correct wires, and if I should try to trace these wires and make a jumper to connect these plug ins together? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

INTERESTING, if I am looking correctly it appears the short switch harness has the original-style connectors, and the engine/tractor harness has updated connectors, along with numbering on the wires.

Any history on the engine/tractor harness(es), are they new from DEERE, or aftermarket, any part numbers on those?

Wonder what Agri Services harnesses for these tractors use for connectors?
