I am almost certain the radiator in my JD 401 B is plugged. After almost 40 years. It runs right at the red line, but not into it. I see new radiators at so many prices. Probably they all come from China, except the original JD. Does anyone make new radiators in the states? Abilene Machine has about the best price at, 235.00 with free shipping. I have read the after market radiators don't fit well. Anyone purchased a after market radiator? how did it fit? Stan

I haven't purchased an aftermarket one, but I haven't seen many glowing reports for fit or quality on any. I'm fortunate to still have a couple radiator shops around and have been able to have mine repaired thus far.

Have you considered having a radiator shop check and clean yours?

You might want to check with a non contact, or other, thermometer to see that your temperature gauge isn't off as well.

You can still get cores made in the states if you have a good local radiator shop. No new ones even from Deere. A recore will cost a good bit more than your quoted price but it is well worth it.

Aftermarket radiators are cheap. You don't get radiator quality cheap. JMO
