Newer D Tractor Manifold

Picked up a "D" tractor manifold, today. P/N D1891R, in the parts book. Casting number is D91. Bolted where I thought the carburetor would go, is another smaller casting that appears to have "D91R" or something similar, cast into it. What is this smaller casting for? Looks like it goes between the manifold and the carb.

Never say never , but I don't believe that top manifold made by deere. I have one that is similar if not the same and is aftermarket propane ?? manifold. The D3521r?( not sure of #) manifold is very similar to all fuel but has lees heat exposure to intake side .Almost all tractor manifolds added a little heat to intake side to prevent icing of carburetor ,unless it was a propane only model .Paul
