What is crankshaft endplay on my 60? If I have to adjust it, what is the torque spec for the two bolts holding flywheel to crankshaft?
Thanks

not sure what the crank end play is.....005 to .010 I suppose. Torque on flywheel bolts is 275 ft lbs according to MR Thinker's Almanac.

4010 puller,

I think the specs given are spot on. Are you going to reuse the original flywheel bolts? Always wondered why the flywheel torque on the 60 is so high when the flywheel bolt torque for a 70 D is much lower at 208 ft-lbs. Maybe some of the engineers can explain that. I always replace the original bolts with grade 8 bolts , nuts and washers. Have used fine thread bolts with extra tall nuts too as suggested on here a while ago. Wonder what grade the original flywheel bolts are? Have seen a discussion on another site that raised the question of clamping force exerted by modern hardware.

Haven?t decided yet, going to get dial indicator to measure endplay, then adjust it up if need be, may just buy grade 8 coarse thread bolts, the last ones have probably been original and successful for the last 67 years. May have to borrow torque wrench to go that high unless I break my 3/4? one out. Thanks I will use .005-.010? for reference
