I am trying to put a new push switch for fuel guage on the dash of my 820. It has 3 terminals no. 1, 2, 3. Can anyone tell me what wires go on what terminals. I am not sure how switch works?

Switch is Key #22.

1 = Wire to sending unit.

2 = Power wire from ammeter.

3 = Wire to gauge.

The momentary push button switch draws juice through the ammeter post when the diesel engine is not running. So depressing the button reads the fuel level by drawing juice from the battery. When the button is not depressed and the diesel engine is running it draws juice from the generator. Take an ohm meter and figure out which two posts have continuity when the button is not depressed and which two have continuity when the button is depressed. One of the terminals is connected to the fuel gauge, one to the generator and one to the ammeter. The other post on the fuel gauge is connected to the tank sending unit.

wow what a site, thanks a lot, switch was missing from tractor when I bought it. The tractor had been sitting in a pasture for 15 years. It was last used to pull a round hay baler which needed 12 volts and previous owner put a 12 volt battery in it. Need I say more. The tractor runs fine but just about done getting electrical system put back together. Again thanks for the help
