Aftermarket 3020 Tach?

Most seem to be in the $170-$200 range, but I see a couple such as
here are about half of that. All of the cheaper ones have a blurrier picture than the ones from Steiner, etc. Has anybody tried these? Are they all made in the same place, or are there even cheaper knock-offs of the knock-offs?

All I _really_ need is an hour meter, is my non-functioning fuel gauge a 2" diameter? I looks smaller from outside the dash.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

I've bought the expensive genuine jd tach and haven't been impressed. The quality on all of them seems to be junk. I haven't tried rebuilding an old one yet but that is what I'm going to try next.

Yes there are cheap grade and even cheaper grade junk just like anything else . Contrary to popular belief not all parts are the same

Even Deere's are not as good as original.

You would be surprised how many people call looking for low houred tachs.I don't care for the 3 digit Mexican tachs from JD Most of the time Steiner or A&I have the best replacement As stated Star Speedometer 386-569-5284 in Palm Coast Florida ad appears in Green Magazine monthly

I actually called Star and the cost to rebuild an original tach is $265 and it is guaranteed. He said there are 3 options hours what they read or you can have them set at 0 or he can add hours but never subtract.10 day turn around. He stated all the new are made of plastic and are junk.

Check with Jerry Trcka @ evergreen restoration. I think he rebuilds them I know he'll set it to the hours you request. Sorry you'll have to Google the number I don't have it handy.

Evergreen # is 715-635-8629 or cell 715-520-7876.He just advertises to do gauges you will have to call to find out.I bought a tractor that had redone gauges from him and they were excellent and tach was also redone but don't know for sure where but hours were supposedly the correct hours.
