467 Round baler

I purchased this baler, 467 string tie only. I have dealt with the grooves cut by all of the twine everywhere except the ends of the twine arms. They are grooved on both sides. How do ya'll deal with the grooves? Inserts? made from what? Buy them? Make them? What about welding them up and grinding back smooth? Grind them out and deal with it next time? Is there a replacement eye available? How many miles of string does it take to cut a 1/8 inch deep groove in a ceramic insulator?

I would weld and grind smooth. And maybe back off the tension a little if possible.

New replacement twine arm bushings are available from JD parts. Justcut old bushing off & weld new bushings on end of twine arms
