Just bought an old 2130 and am replacing all filters and fluids. What is the correct process for replacing the two fuel Filters?

Thanks in advance for any information on how to do this.

I believe you unscrew the nut holding the
lower water collection bowl on and reuse
that bowl on the new filter after
cleaning it.

Good news . The parts book is free online at JD .
The operator s and service manuals that cover routine service, locations , quantities etc . Just call 1-800-5222-7448. Many topics and in more detail than a couple of paragraphs on a forum.
Condition of the transmission oil and engine coolant are critical .
Two known quality oils are Deere Hy-Gard from your Jd Dealer Or Shell Spirax S4 TXM from a Shell oil dealer,
Not from Buba s discount tractor parts store where counterfeit oil, filters , antifreeze, fasteners are a problem.
Engine coolant must have an active corrosion inhibitor package to protect the wet sleeves.

You will need to bleed the system once new filters are on. There is a lever on the
side of the lift pump, moving it up and down will pump fuel into the new filters.
You will need to open the bleed screw on the right end of the filter bracket and
keep on pumping til a solid stream of fuel comes out....no air bubbles! Then, turn
the bleed screw in and you should be good to go.

Definitely agree on Hy guard and JD
filters. Ive heard other fliuds can cause
brake probelems. And JD filters just
because they are known quality and look
correct since they are visible. Im pretty
sure any modern coolant has an anti
corrosion pack. Usually lack of
maintenance is the issue as those
additives do wear out. I just use the
green Zerex and change every other year
and have had no issues. Dad used to be
terrible about not changing coolant in
our stuff and lost the engine in the 2630
because of it. So I do all the
maintenance now and remind him what that
engine replacement cost when he wants to
put it off. Motor oil I just use whatever
15w40 is on sale for the old girls, it's
all far superior to anything made when
they were new.

You will loose fuel from the filters changing them. I suggest protecting the starter the best you can from the fuel.

Those are special round head bolts (not nuts) running up through the bowls, filters and thread into the housing.

Depending on the brand of the new filters you use there can be issues if the top gasket seals are installed in the wrong place. The top gaskets belong in the grooves located in the top housing, not in the filter element it self. (common error with Wix/NAPA filters). Many filters are supplied with a third gasket for the type having a separator section, which yours doesn't have, so you won't need the third one.

Open both bleeder screws on the top housing. Pump the transfer pump as centash posted (you might have to bump the engine over to get a stroke on it depending on where the pump arm is on the cam lobe). Fuel should come out the bleeder on the right when the first filter is full, then you close that bleeder. Continue to pump until fuel comes out the bleeder on top of the second (left) filter, then close that one. If things go right it will start right up for you. I usually run mine at a high idle for a few minutes after they start so that if there is an air bubble in the line it will normally pass through better than if the engine is idling.

I agree with buickanddeere on you should be getting the operator's and service/technical manuals for your tractor. The JD source he posted is a good one. The website to go with the phone number is https://techpubs.deere.com/Default.aspx, you can search for your model and see the manuals available for it there if you want. There are used OEM manuals on eBay. Many sites, including the store for this site, sell reprints of OEM but quality varies. When you are looking at manuals compare your serial number as there are some serial number breaks within models that call for different manuals.

Since the filters are in series, they have to be full before any leaks show up. If they do you have to drain them to make sure the top gasket is
in place and refill them again to retest. I just unbolt the whole filter unit and install the filters on the work bench. A lot easier. And as
mentioned put some plastic over the starter. At least no loader.........Ron
