Looking for suggestions on a replacement for a 4020. I want
to upgrade to the new cab style. So, I?m thinking a 6410 or
7210. Any suggestions? Or other models? Thanks.

(quoted from post at 08:44:59 07/14/19) Primary use will be mowing and probably spot spraying.

Mowing with ? How many acres? Hills, sand, clay, wet, dry ? Spraying with a three point hitch tank sprayer or a trail type sprayer?
How "new" ?

If you want some thing "Dependable"..(and who doesn't) go for a 4240/4250,,good cab, dependable all the way through,, and no electronic Gremlins in the mix.. the Air Conditioner is dependable and repairable if it needs to be..newer tractors have cute little air ducts to run the ac to different ports in the cab,, they warp and leak,, and when the fancy off set Muffler pipe burns out it will melt those plastic ducts,,and pump pure exhaust into the cab...and of course you will need to depend on faulty electronics to keep the PTO on... A 4240/4250 will deliver 115/120 HP all day long..

A 4XXX Waterloo tractor is probably overkill, but nice if that's what you want. A 5000 Series will do what you need and will cost a lot less. Steer clear of the Simms made cabs though. They're crap!

We're in the same boat. One of our 4020s has about 27k hours and as great as it's been, it's time for it to move on. Engine has never been touched with an M/W turbo on it it's whole life, but just about everything else is shot. We are looking to get a 4050 MFWD to make life easier in the winter and the much better cab. Can't say much about the newer tractors you mentioned. But our experience with 7000 series which are their big brother is they are great for the first 10k and a giant money pit afterwards due to all the electronic controls. We like to keep our rigs longer than that if we can help it so we are actually going back to a 4455 from the 7800. Our 4630 has 16,000 hours turning 240hp, and the other 4020 has 18,000 hrs and just one powershift rebuild. The only new rig is the 7820 on the planter which was a 7.00 corn impulse buy on Dads part. But it only has 2k hours and it's as comfortable as driving a car, so if you got the money and plan to trade sooner than us cheap Swedes, get the new rig and enjoy the luxury :)
