4430 Power Beyond

I know this topic has been covered a million times but I still don't have the answer I am looking for. I have purchased a power beyond block. I am wondering if I would be better to route my return to ported filter, or better than that, tee into the rockshaft return line to offset ported filter cost.

Install both hoses to the power
beyond.block. Early 20 series would
return to ported filter cover.
Console 20 series and newer hoses go
to power beyond block.

Returning to the filter works the best, and is simple to do.

Can I drill and thread cover, or would it be easier to buy the rockshaft return line fittings that I have seen posted for a 4020, if they are the same, or available for a 4430? If threading the cover, will pipe threads be ok? Not sure of the price for a ported filter cover but thought I saw they were pricey.

I thought PBY block mounted on late 20-55 series on LH side of rockshaft housing returned oil to rockshaft oil return galley which takes oil to hyd filter. Am I incorrect in my thinking? Yrs back I had a FEL on my 4255 that I teed into junction block on RH side for JS valve for pressure & returned oil to sump & loader hyd's operated flawlessly until I removed loader.
