Value of 276t engine

A 4276t engine has about fell in my lap for
my 2510 project. It's out of a street
sweeper, ran the sweeper part, has less
than 200 hours on it. The main engine blew
up soon after the sweeper engine was put
in, the 276 was salvaged before they
scrapped the machine. Been stored inside
since. Problem is, neither of us know what
price to put on it. I saw one in Lancaster
Farmer a few weeks ago asking $3,000. Saw a
few just now online listed at $4,500. And
then others for more than that yet.

Anyone on here seen anymore of these
engines sell?

A nice find,,I would think in the $2500-$3500 range. It is worth more than the average take out engine..

15 years ago I pulled against a 2510 in
7500, and 9500 farm stock classes. It did
REALLY well. Everytime we saw it pull we
were in shock that that little thing just
kept going. I think I now know why that
was....

We just sold one to an Amish for use in a post mill. We got $3000 for it and the 219 that they ran out of oil. Not much other than a pump and a head. Tom

75 extra cubic inches will make a difference. We pulled a 2510 back in the 70's with one in it,, we also added a turbo off a 450 dozer,,it did very well.

We paid $1500 for the whole Elgin street with a 276T 2 years ago. I d like to find a beat up side console 3020 to slide it into.

My 239T in my 3020 makes 115hp with absolutely no smoke.

Well I just checked it out. Turned out to be a 219 not a 276. So I'll keep watching for a close one. If I'm going to the trouble of swapping it, I may as well put the biggest thing in that fits.

Thanks for the replies.
