1939 John Deere B Gas Cap

I'm in the process of doing final touches
on my wife's 1939 John Deere B. I'm trying
to figure out which fuel tank cap is the
correct one. This one didn't have any on
it when we got it. A part number would be
GREAT! All I seem to find is aftermarket,
which is fine, but the measurements dont
match to what I come up with on my tank.

I believe that part # 23995DA from YT parts on this site will fit.

The '39 B was basically an unstyled model with styled sheet metal. Check the dimension on this cap to see if it's what you need.

Steiner has them listed also. There basically the same cap as all the letter series except the unstyled and the 1939 styled the cap didn't say Buy Clean Fuel/Keep it Clean. Good Luck!

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]FUEL SYSTEM[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the filler cap (Key 3) part no. [b:654c4848f0]AD 709 R[/b:654c4848f0].

Agree with [b:654c4848f0]Old Popper[/b:654c4848f0] that <a href="https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/John-Deere-B_Fuel-Cap-Vented_23995DA.html">this filler cap is available</a> from this website.
