Need Help with ID Model 47 Loader Selective Control Valve

Hi Guys,

I have a 1966 JD 1020 Diesel with a Model 47 loader attached. I do not know the year the loader was made (I assume it is near 1966).

The loader selective control valve for the hydraulics is leaking. I found a parts diagram on the Big Green parts website that lists the model as a "Greson Two Spool Independent Control Valve
Valve, Complete, less handles AC15306".

I need a rebuild kit for the valve but haven't been able to find one using that part number. Mine is now leaking roughly 3-4 qts a day and that exceeds my tolerance for even this old workhorse (the tractor, not me).

Does anyone know of the compatible Greson (Parker?) part number for the rebuild kit for my control valve? The individual seals/o-rings are obscenely expensive via the Big Green parts site and they are not listed here on the YT parts site.

I installed many frt end loaders in the mid 60's through mid 70's while employed at a JD dealer. I think your loaders valve is not a factory Gresen valve supplied by JD. 1st different thing is your valve doesn't have an opening on both sides opposite to spools similar to parts photo. 2nd all loaders I mounted had boom/bucket hoses mounted to valve aimed DOWN not UP.

TJ is right. That valve was not supplied with that loader.
Are you sure it's a Gresen?
I would check with hydraulic suppliers. There are cheap
valves out there. Just make sure it's compatible with your
system.

That was my thoughts as well when looking at the pics. The levers are different than the factory valve and a factory one would have been mounted under a cover. Tom

One absorbs a lot of JD knowledge while being employed at JD dealership for 21 yrs & 13 of those yrs I served as service manager.
