Joystick intall

Assuming your using it for a loader valve.. be sure it is a closed center valve,, screw the pressure relief valve on it clear in tight..pick your pressure up with a power beyond block mounted under your left SCV, return the oil through a ported filter bowl,,it is possible to tee into the pressure line up under the hood, or under the platform, but it is better and cleaner with a power beyond block..

I was thinking PBY block returned oil to same place as the rockshaft but I guess I must be wrong if you state return to hyd ported filter cover.

My neighbor has a '71 4020 that both hoses for joystick attach to PBY block that loader operates fine BUT it has a PS trans that as you're aware the trans pump pumps continuous while engine is running unlike SR trans when clutch is depressed trans pump stops pumping.

I tee into the pressure line under the platform. I took the line out and took it to a hydraulic shop that cut the line in two (about 5" ahead of the rockshaft) and removed a chunk and installed a -10 JIC tee. Then ran the line out from under the platform to the valve and returned to a ported filter cover.

FWIW the line goes back in a lot easier when it is in 2 pieces.

Yes, I have used that way, and it does work well,.,just a bit more things to deal with, but turns out well.
