John Deere 2640

I have a 2640 I had to split to work on. Now I'm trying to put it back together. I have the two halves most of the way pushed together. I am lacking an inch and a half from having the halves together but its hung up and I have no idea what might be the issue. Any ideas?

Splines not aligned. Also watch your hyd lines.

Is there any way to turn a shaft to align splines without pulling halves back apart

Turn pto shaft. Won't be positive since wet clutch but will drag around
if not jammed together too tight.
Put tran in gear and turn flywheel.
