Swapping 265 loader from 2955 to a 4050

Hello all,
Long time listener, first time caller. I am wondering about pulling our 265 loader from our current 2955 and putting it on a small frame Waterloo tractor and how close the brackets are to bolting up. I am familiar with our brackets supporting under the back axles and the Waterloo frames do not require that. Suppose the side frame holes are close and any ideas on the frame widths? I will do some more investigating and look forward to any input. I am doubtful of finding any Waterloo frame loader brackets kicking around so am figuring on working with what I have. The least amount of cutting and welding the better :). Thanks in advance, Darryl

I think you may be better off finding the
correct bracket, even if it means getting
new ones. To cut and weld something to make
it fit may end up with it not being strong
enough where it matters.

Welcome to YT
I think I've read where what you're inquiring about has been done successfully by adding to the frt of the 2955 mounts to encompass around & attach to frt of 4050. I think to find correct mounting brackets for sale will be similar to ""looking for hen's teeth"".

If I were you, I would keep the brackets that attach the loader frame to the rear axle. They are reduciing a lot the stress on the loader frame bolts and the engine to frame bolts, plus might prevent cracks and breakage of the clutch housing.
All 265 and 280 that I have seen in Europe on 40 to 55 series have the extra supports.

Thanks Tx Jim it's an honor sir
Frame widths are confirmed the same between the 2 factory types so 1st problem solved. Mounting holes should be the same or a least very close to it according to my deere history and reading. If deal goes through as planned I will document and report back. Any more input or experience is greatly appreciated as always. A 359T version 4050 probably doesn't excite most but with the 2955 being our big tractor it'll feel like the green hulk to us :)

Agreed fdt860 on the supports to the rear axle. Once everything is secured, modifying those rear supports to fit up under the back axle if required will be the easy part. I k how they are the only reason our 29 isn't a 2 piece model a dozen times over. Thanks for the advice.
Regards, Darryl

Fdt680 my understanding is the the manheims required the rear axle supports to help reduce exactly what you are describing. The Waterloos were strong enough in the middle so they did not require the addition support but it definitely wont hurt.
Lots is good.
More is better.
Too much is enough :)

It will fit right on. May have to lengthen the frames under the rear axle. I have a 245 Manhiem frame on a 3020. I welded 1/2 x 4 flat bar to the rear of the front part
of the loader frame and bolted it to the tractor side frames. On the front of said frame, I boxed the front bolster of the tractor with the same size flat bar. So in
effect the sub frame is a combination Waterloo plus Manhiem. Just dandy. Hope this helps.......Ron

Put a 265 loader off a Mannheim tractor on my 4055. Frames bolted on with no
modifications. Only modification was to plates that bolt to rear axles. Had to
elongate holes a bit for wider axle housing on 4055.
