301AD Need help finding brake parts

I have a 301AD serial number 353221. There was a lot of fine metal and brake material in the bottom of the transmission case. I pulled the
final drives and found the right brake disc and actuating piston had been metal to metal for quite some time. There is 1/4" missing from the
piston compared to the left side piston. I can make the left side work with the new disc.. The problem is I ordered a new piston (L31016) for
the right side and it is different. It will not go into the final drive due to the o-ring landings being a smaller OD than my original..
Deere parts doesn't know, tried a salvage yard and they came up with the same number the Deere parts guy did. I'm not sure what to do..
Looking for assistance, maybe somebody has ran into this before? Any help is greatly appreciated.. CB

Looking at jdparts.com, brake piston L31016 was used on a LOT of tractors, including the "300" and "301", but for "301A", brake piston part number is T52029.

Seems odd the "pros" didn't figure that out?

T52029, about $566 from DEERE, about $160 for the A&I version (also owned by DEERE).
