530 automatic fuel shut off rebuild

Discovered my crank case filled up with gas. Rebuilt the fuel shut off but had to take it back apart after replacing the diaphrams with new. Can I re install the new diaphrams or should I put another new set in? Also, now the shut off tightens up past the point where the oil & gas lines line up. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? Don't want to strip the tank threads for the shut off connection.

You should be able to reuse them if you didn't tear them.
Remove the whole assembly from the tank. Wrap the threads of the shut off with several wraps of thread tape (make sure to go the correct direction), also add a bit of liquid or paste thread sealant. Then install the shut off and stop when it gets snug where your fittings line up. Do NOT back up, it will displace the thread tape. Don't add fuel for a while to let the sealant set up.
See if that works.

I have been doing away with the auto shut offs ans installing little 1/8" ball valves easy to handle and no issues..

Tim, If I do this, do I run a new oil line from the crank case directly to the gauge and do away with the existing 2 lines? Also, I will need a new old style sediment bowlshut off as in your pic attached?

Yes,, and I was looking for that pic to send you and couldn't find it, you may be able to re-use your gas line if your trying to keep it original,, but I use a new brake line and try bend it nice,,any time I alter some thing I realize that it is not original,,but I try to make it neat and clean, I get a sediment bowl from Tractor supply
