Hello, I am new to forums. Im not too good at navigating the forums yet. I am needing to change left and probally right main bearing( The RH doesnt have much play or leaking oil, I changed oil slinger O-ring in LH).

I have a very loose wrist pin in #1 piston/and connector rod bearing on same cylinder. The LH bearing on the shaft is reading 2.750. I am thinking press in new bearing oem bearing if shaft is not undersized.

Is there any forums where I can read on main and rod bearings or any suggestions.Thank you.

. There is a long list of specifications for that engine and build . Just too many to list here Fortunately the factory service manual can be had new at 1-800-522-7448 .
There are re-prints at "Sharp s if you google them .
If you want to wake it up a little . Have that worn cam and lifters re-ground to match a set of LP pistons .

Thanks for the reply. Im getting about 2.748 on crank on both side of center of bearing and 2.750 on the crank where the oiler was coating inside journal. It looks like bearing wore crank down on both side of the oiler groove, and left .002 on the center of crank. If left hand piston rod connector hasnt wore the crank down, cant I just put Oem left hand bearing and new connecting rod bearing, and (providing the wrist pin hasnt wore piston), replace wrist pin as well. The service manual states bearing can allow 0.004-.006 diametral clearance. Sorry for asking alot of questions. I have built automobile v-8 small block motors in the past, just dealing with a different animal now.
