I hve a 1020 with 3 pt but no rear coupling for hyds. Where do plump into to get pressure for a closed center aftermarket 2 spool selector valve? Do I return oil to the big plug in top of filter housing? Thanks in advance

To get hyd pressure for SCV one needs to install fitting at the rear of priority valve on RH side close to hyd filter. Yes return can go to ported hyd filter cover.

Depends on what the hydraulic load is , whether to return oil direct to the sump or to a ported filter cover .
Given the number of 20,30,30,50 & 55 series JD utility tractors in the salvage yard . I would use a bolt on factory system instead of making up a system .
If there is a relief valve, block it or crank to 2400+psi.

My 1020 has a system as B&D describes with it running out of a ported filter cover. The hose then runs to basically a log splitter valve with two pioneer ends piped off of it. It works but is not a factory system. I will try and get you some pictures.

Thanks all for help. I plumbed it the way i described and Tx Jim suggestion. Works great for a rake tractor now. Tx jim
it was priorty valve on 3010 with loader issues last year. Thanks for great info.
