Seals in wrong

After reviewing information and the pictures I took, I realized that I put the right main bearing oil seals in wrong - face to face instead of back to back! They are double lip seals. I already have the first reduction cover on. I also have the engine driven power shaft. Do I need to correct this, or will this be OK? The tractor (60) will see very limited usage.

Thanks again to all who answer!

The face to face sounds correct as you want the spring loaded lips facing away from each other.
Now if you have them in the other way both spring loaded lips next to each other I guess it will do the same job ? I just wonder if the lips would have a shorter life due to not being near any lube oil ?

Spring side towards the oil your trying to contain..if oil on each side they would be back to back,,spring side out each way.

I installed the seals with the springs facing each other. So, do I remove the reduction cover and power shaft gear to correct this or leave as is?

They "may" be okay,,,there is not that much seal pressure in that area,, and you would also need new seals,,they would not live through a change.. but I would change them...if it was mine..I know that's not what you want to hear...Darn it

you have one backwards , so remove and replace correctly. spring or lip always goes to the oil side. plus pack with grease in between the seals as the outside one will be running dry.
