I am just finishing up a project for assembling the 9L and 13L fan drives. There two parts to it, with a large belt between them like a snow mobile belt. It really amazes me how big the drives are, it must take a lot of HP to run that fan. The ECM on the tractor controls the width of one of the pulleys to change the fan speed. We are logging all the assembly steps, torques and press pressures. It has been a real intense couple months working on it.

The first units rolled out this week.

David, 10 to 13% of engine HP is very normal for turning the fan.
So on a 400HP engine, the fan drive has to handle the power of a G tractor.
