4430 hyd chatter

run a 4430 on a baler and loader. the hyds chatter and are very slow. was told I could run a line from the main pump directly back to spools and it will help with both problems. it takes the supply pump in trans out of the loop.any idea if this works or is a bad idea?

was also told it could be O-rings on supply lines to pump in trans that are allowing air to enter system. Pain to go into tranny but could do it if this is the problem.

How are you supplying the loader valve now? If it's through the SCV's that is not good,,a power beyond block placed behind the left SCV is best way to get pressure oil, then return it through a ported filter bowl,,be sure that your loader valve is not leaking through when it's centered,, to find this out head the return line into a bucket, with the tractor running and the valve centered there should be no oil returning to the bucket.

chatter is happening almost all the time, even when parked and idling and loader not on tractor. seems to be the line that comes out of tranny and goes to scv casting.

I think this tracks with the suggestion the O-rings are worn inside the trans that supply the pump.

Neighbour ran lines right from pump to scv's on a 2130 and was very happy with results. not sure about longer term problem potential.

There's no way to take trans pump out of hyd loop because frt hyd pump needs trans pump to supply it with oil because frt pump can't suck oil. How many hrs has tractor operated since hyd filter was changed & sump screen checked/cleaned? Has hyd stand-by pressure be checked lately? Stand-by pressure should be between 2250-2350 psi.

As TxJim has noted . Something is has been lost, distorted and forgotten with the telling and retelling how to connect a high flow hydraulic load to a 20 through 55 series tractor .
Particularly on the Dubuque/Mannheim utility tractors . The transmission charge pump was not designed to supply the front pump at high rates on long term intervals .
Return Hydraulic oil on from continuous high demand loads needs to be plumbed to a point . Between the transmission pump outlet and the transmission pump side of the oil filter .
The power beyond block is probably the neatest installation to properly supply and return oil from a loader, backhoe, hydraulic motor, log splitter etc on a Waterloo Tractor . Dubuque s/Mannheim s only option is ported transmission oil filter cover .
Is the 4430 a synco range , quad range or power shift ?
How and where are the loader hoses connected to the tractor ?
Does the loader have a joystick control or controlled from two SCV levers on the tractor ?
Is the SCV set for float operation ?
Other posters will join in soon with some excellent images of where to plumb the oil lines .

That additional line update from the SCV . It diverted oil from returning to the transmission case and routed the oil instead to a ported transmission filter cover.

it is a quad range, loader hoses are connected to scv's when in use,no joystick.

The chatter occurs as soon as tractor is started, sitting still continues even if you raise RPM. don't run any motors etc.. only the loader and a 567 bale. door opens and closes very slowly.

The door on baler will unlock and open slowly on it's own with hoses plugged in one way. if you reverse them it stays closed.

. Three SCV outlets ?
Using a loader on the SCV s beats them to death. Better to have used a dedicated joystick that is supplied direct, avoid the SCV s entirely for the loader .
Fortunately TimS has everything to rebuild the SCV valves and a test bench to proven them factory fresh.
