2755 Lucas CAV pump leaking on top

I have restored this type of pump top seals before on a 2240, and was able to do the job while the pump was on the tractor.

What's the latest and best source for the top seal kit? I see all kinds of stuff on the net, lots of aftermarket.

What would the experts here do re: replacing these top seals and gaskets?

Remove and repair the complete pump and be DONE with it. I stopped doing top reseal patch jobs years ago because other leaks always showed up soon after the "patch job" was done. Then the owner always says, "but you just worked on it, and it's leaking again"...

i get half a dozen gasket and 0-ring sets from http://www.spencerdiesel.com/ but if i only needed one i get it from my local jd dealer i done a lot of them and and cant think of any i had to go back to that leaked any place else

I hear that, and in a perfect world, that's the way to go. With farming season in full swing....needs a leak ficx, not a rebuild.

I'll check with JD dealer here.
