M cultivator difference??

What is the difference between the M-10A cultivator and the M-100 cultivator? Is it simply that the M-10 uses chains for the front and the M-100 mounts directly to the engine? I am looking at the John Deere Styled Letter Series book from Green Magazine. It has a list of matching equipment for the model M and only lists the M-10, M-10A. I found a complete set of cultivators for my M and would like to order the correct operators manual for it. The gentlemen selling me the cultivators told me they were mounted on his tractor when he bought it 20 years ago (and his mounted to the tractor, no chains).

Thank you.

Reviewed the [b:654c4848f0]OPERATOR'S MANUAL No. OM-N5-1149 JOHN DEERE M10A SERIES TRACTOR CULTIVATOR For JOHN DEERE Model "M" Tractor[/b:654c4848f0] on page 2.

Take a look at the illustration below.

Note the depth control chain on the cultivator.

Take a look at the photo below of the M12A on "Sparky" our 51M.

Take a look at the <a href="https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-John-Deere-M100-Cultivator-For-M-Tractors-Operator-Manual-OM-A12-651/273807774174?hash=item3fc03711de:g:ZAYAAOSwyutcpOf~">M100 manual</a> listed on ebay.

Hope this helps.
