A friend asked me to find out what model disc this is. I know from the parts book that it?s a RW or RWA. How do you tell the difference? Also how do you tell the size?
Thanks

How many disk per disk shaft? According to JD parts RW overall width measured in even feet width with 1'' square disk shaft & RWA measured in feet & inches with 1-1/8'' square disk shaft

I am going to say rwa. The rw used a smaller diameter spool and when they went to the rwa is used the larger spools. The early kba's used the smaller spool and they later changed to the bigger ones so I think the rw got the a added when changed to the bigger spools. Tom

When the RWA's first came out the only real difference I notice was the round brace rod that attaches the bearing to the frame was flat instead of round. and some of the disks in my area also had an angle iron that went between the front and rear gang on both sides. Also john deere started pushing sealed bearings instead of the chilled Iron ones. They might have offered them on the RW's but all the ones I've seen are the Chilled ones. john
