720 diesel oil level rising

I have a 720 diesel that if I run it on an incline the engine oil level will rise. Where could this oil be coming from? It is not diesel but could it be the transmission oil? thanks

Since you feel it's NOT diesel fuel, we'll look elsewhere, for the moment.

Transmission oil can get into the engine if the RH crankshaft seal fails, Key #26.

It's also POSSIBLE for the power steering pump seal to leak PS oil into the crankcase, or the hydraulic pump seal to leak hydraulic oil into the crankcase.

Thanks for the info. Could that be why it only raises the crankcase oil when the tractor is leaning to the clutch side. To repair the seal, will I need to remove the clutch and the first reduction gear cover. Thanks again for your help.

Is your trans oil level over full?

To get to the seal you will definitely have to remove the clutch pulley. You may or may not have to remove the cover. The seal is key 26, the pto drive gear number 27 will need to be removed. To do that you ll need to remove the snap ring and you will need good pull to pull that gear off. I used a 17 ton hydraulic puller on the last on and when it breaks loose things jump.

I checked transmission oil level and the oil is coming out the hole slowly. Should it not be coming out at all. Thanks for
your help.
