will a 2630 engine (279 ?) bolt into a 2520 or would it be easier just rebuild my 219 from the 2520. skips at idle and has lots of blowby.

You will need to change the back plate on the engine and new rear engine seal and will need to change the tach drive in the back of the camshaft. You will have a good running 2520 when finished. Tom

I will agree with Tom, but I will also add, check and clean the radiator. The extra cubic inches produce more heat, and if used hard may tend to run warmer

It seems like a 239 will also bolt in easily. I bought one that was a gas redone and the person who did it said was an easy swap.A 279 would be an upgrade. The 239 seemed to be equal to a 3020D I had here. The guy said it came of a power unit.

I actually think a 2520 will have more radiator than a 2630 as the 2630 has 1/3 blocked off for the oil cooler. I know dairy farmers always complained about 2630-2640's running plenty warm when worked hard. Most had loaders and very dirty radiators. Tom

I put a 219 in my 2510, wished I would have went with the 276, turbo model would have really woke it up but would have interfered with my dual hydraulic remotes
