4320 Cab Removal

My 1971 4320 has a Factory Hinson Cab with ROPS. I am strongly thinking about removing it and making it a fender tractor.
My question is the ROPS, it is bolted to the axles and bolted at the very top to the cab sheet metal. I am concerned that if I remove the ROPS as part of the cab, that is remove the axle bolts and leave it bolted at the top when I go to lift the cab off I will bend the cab sheet metal.
Yet, if I unbolt the ROPS just at the top at the cab sheet metal I will have to lift that cab up much higher than I am capable to get the cab off.
I have not looked close enough yet to see if I can remove the ROPS with the cab still in place and then remove the cab. Obviously I will remove any doors/window/sheet metal I can remove before I go to lift the main cab structure.f
Any advice/experience? Thanks.

Paul I have always just take the 8 bolts out of roll guard and lift complete unit off .It is much easier but requires seat removal and all the tin work around clutch and brake.Gets a little close near console. For some reason I thought there is a place to hook on top of cab.The Stolper canopy top was strong enough to lift the cab but Hinsen is different Not much value with out roll guard except windows and door.It takes some time to remove roll bar from cab as there must be close to 50+ bolts some not easy to get it Good Luck Paul!

You are right Larry. There are more bolts than I thought. I will leave the ROPS with the Cab. Perhaps I will sell it later. I want to leave my options open. Paul

I just removed one from a 4900 hour 1971 4320 and it had a Stolper dealer installed so the plus was side shields were correct and floor board stayed with tractor.I had a set of nice rock shaft covers installed set of big fenders and sold Roll Gard with canopy for $1100.

I saw the picture you posted on Tractor Talk. Looks like a nice tractor and nice cab. I've been thinking about putting a cab like that on a tractor of mine. It'd only be used to feed cattle with in the winter.

Depending on your standards, with a little TLC it would be great for that. I have no need for it in the winter. Stay tuned. Paul
