Stuck rings on 1930 John D

Last summer I acquired a 1930 John Deere D. Engine is free and has really good compression in one cylinder but nothing on the flywheel side. I'm guessing the rings are stuck to the piston. I've not really had a lot of time to mess with it over the winter so I have been putting mystery oil and sea foam in it and turning it over occasionally. Do you all think the rings will come loose after it starts up. Tell me some of your experiences.
Brett

NO compression is FAR more likely to be caused by a stuck valve vs. stuck rings.

I agree with Bob. Stuck valve. Remove your valve cover and have someone turn it over while you watch the rocker arms.

Thanks guys, I removed the tappet cover and sure enough the exhaust valve is stuck open. Hopefully it'll free up once we get it started
but I bet it smokes like a freight train. What's my chances of freeing it up before I start it? Any ideas? I thought about taking the valve
cover off and spraying some BP blaster on the stem but not sure how much would make it down too far. Oh well, worth a try. Thanks again guys.

Soak the valve stem in penetrating oil.
Pull the spark plug on the dead cylinder
and see if you can get a screwdriver or
something against the valve and pop it
closed.

I bought a br with a stuck valve, I worked through the spark plug hole, I could see the valve. I used a small bar and used a thin piece of plastic to protect the threads. Got it loosened after a few pushes back squirting oil and tapping it into the cylinder.

If you have a soft hammer, or even brass, tap on the end of the valve stem, gently. Keep spraying it with penetrating oil
around the valve stem and tap on it. If it starts to move the spring will push it back, keep tapping and spraying, it will
be OK! Let us know what happens!
