I can't get my 4020 gas to go. It has the Pertronix electronic ignition. This is a 1967 gas that has been converted to 12 volt with negative ground. I have fuel and I have spark. I pulled the wire off coming out of the coil and it sparks pretty well against the frame when turning over. I also pulled a couple plug wires off and they spark on the frame too. I pulled out all plugs and wire brushed them - they look decent. I even tried a few ether squirts and nothing. It has a gear reduction starter and really turns it over fast but no fire? How can I trouble shoot this? Do I need to check voltage to the coil? Someone mentioned running a wire direct from the positive on the battery to the coil to bypass the switch? Should I try this? I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
