MT ignition issue

I had the MT running this morning and this intermittent issue i have been having lately with the ignition system popped up. It was running what seemed to be fine is really not running well.

I have found that the back cylinder when the front plug wire is pulled will not run the tractor engine. When i pull the back wire and leave the front one on the plug it runs.

I have a good spark in the back cylinder and a weaker one in the front plug.

The compression in the back cylinder is 105 psi and the front 100 psi.

I noticed that the engine lacked power last week when i took it out.

I checked that the plugs were in tight.

(quoted from post at 14:37:03 04/13/19) Swap the plugs and tell us what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I swapped the plugs and the reverse happened. I found a plug that would fit and ran it. The engine ran while i tested pulling each wire and the tractor ran fine.

When i was checking the spark earlier i was using a plug from a lawn mower and grounded it to the oil canister. That why i never figured it was the plug.

Also that knock that I reported from an earlier post went away.

(quoted from post at 19:10:31 04/13/19) Rotor & cap in good shape??
Jim

They need to be replaced along with the points which have been carboning up on me. The ignition parts are the one that were in it when i got it.

But i do think your suggestion might be the root of the my other problem the intermittent part.
