1963 John Deere 4010 charging light

On a 4010 there are two warning lamps on each side of the dash. When setting and facing the dash is the warning light on the left side considered the
charging warning light and the other one the oil lamp. Can't get the alternator to charge was told if the warning light did not work that would affect the
charging system . Thanks for your help. Can't find a picture in my manual to identify the lights.

63 would not have an alternator, if it has one then person that changed it might not have hooked the light up.

When seated on the operator's throne, gen/alt light is on your left, oil pressure light on your right.

Have you done as I previously suggested and momentarily jumpered the alternator's #1 "excite" terminal to 12 Volts to see if the alternator would then "excite" and charge?

The warning light may or may not be involved in correct operation of the alternator.

Did it work correctly before you had this issue?

Is the alternator a 1 wire or 3 wire?

Many conversion kits come with 1 wire alternator and charge light is not used. Does it start to charge if engine is revved up?

Thanks to all that replied to this posy and a earlier post. I have the warning light and alternator charging. Once I got several layers of electric tape off and seen how wires were joined and made some changes I have things working not sure how the individual that owned the tractor before me had it charging. I need to do some cleanup on the wiring but thanks to everyone.
