The power from the start terminal on the ignition switch feeds though the transmission neutral start swutch(es), then activates a solenoid on ENGINE SIDE of the firewall, more or less ahead of driver's left knee. This solenoid then sends power to the solenoid on the starter itself. Does this help?

What problem are you having?

I have no wiring. I need to add a start circuit all the way...from starter solenoid, to relay, to ignition switch, to safety switches, back to starter. A diagram would be nice with terminal locations on starter solenoid and ignition switch, etc. Really nice of you to respond to my need and so quickly.

Thanks...Bob Chandler

The best I could do is a diagram for a 4430/4630, which would be darned close, although I'n not sure it would be 100% the same.

Is your's a powershift... the safety switch(es) will be a little different than a synchro/quad.

If you have a decent service manager at a nearby dealership, often they will copy off a diagram for free. Have you tried that route?

Mine is a synchro/quad transmission. If you can send that diagram, I would like to look at it. I believe it would be a big help.

Thanks...Bob Chandler

hello-is this about the same setup as a 310-c john deere backhoe loader? out of thin blue air the switch will not fire the starter, i can jump it at the starter solenoid to start but not with key. i have the book and the wiring diagram and they have a picture of this start relay and the part number is at68973 but i have no idea where it is located. on the start circuit wiring diagram it appears to be outside the cab, might have to take off a lot of sheet-metal to find it, thanks for any reply

Relay should be located under dash or in front of firewall. It should resemble photo below
