Hey guys... tire pressure for a Model 70 with 15.5-38 tires?

Also, anyone have any ideas why my tires are filled with
water? 🤦🏻‍♂️ I purchased the tractor in upstate NY and now in
south NJ and it?s almost 70 this weekend so there def is now a
temperature difference.. but when checking the air on the one
tire water started pouring out of the valve stem. Just when I
thought I got all of it out, and went to air the tire up I could
hear it bubbling inside. The right side didn?t do it but then
again that valve stem is at the top rather than this one which
is at the bottom.... I thought condensation at first but now I?m
really confused.

I'd start with 14 to 16 psi. Your tractor's tires were filled with liquid for ballast to increase traction. Could be windshield washer fluid, or used antifreeze, or a calcium chloride solution of 5 pounds of flaked calcium chloride per gallon of water. CaCl is very corrosive, rinse it off anything and everything it may have contracted. It will kill grass and weeds. It also could be a special processed beer juice that is called "Rim Saver", heavier than water, won't freeze and ruin your tires.

If you want more information, look up " hydro-inflation "

Even if one tries to drain the fluid out of a tire no matter how many times you do it you will still have some of it left in the tube. As for the one not bubbling that is because a tire is never all the way full of fluid but has to have room for air since water does not compress. As for PSI depends on what your doing. 10-17 is what is used in most tractor tires

Thanks... after I posted I realized it was probably for weight or ballast.. it just didn?t cross my mind because he did restorations and not much actual farming. It was white n very soapy so I?m sure it had something mixed.

A good rule of thumb is 1 PSI per inch of width. 15.5 = 15.5 PSI. That is just a general rule, not carved in stone.

With liquid solution for weight in a tractor tire you always want the valve stem at the highest point (top) for checking tire pressure. The air present will always be at the top and will continue to force water out a valve stem located at a lower position on the wheel. Even with valve stem at the top a small amount of water will usually still be present and flow out before you can obtain a good reading of the air pressure.

14 to 16 lbs is the recommended tire pressure for your tires. If those are leaking fluid, You may need to get new core housings for your tubes. They make a new style with male threads or an old style with female threads.
